In Loving Memory

Albin Kindret
May 20, 1931 — March 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts, yet profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of Albin Kindret, who left this world on March 6, 2026, in Dauphin, Manitoba. Born on May 20, 1931, in the close-knit community of Sifton, Manitoba, Albin's journey through 94 years was marked by deep love, unwavering devotion to family, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone he met.
The son of Harry and Mary (Perepeluk) Kindret, Albin grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large family. He was predeceased by his parents, beloved son-in-law Rick Prestayko, cherished grandson Adam Prestayko, brothers Nick, Steve, John, and Eugene, and sisters Helen, Anne, and Lena. These familial relationships shaped his life and left enduring memories that he carried with him always.
On June 14, 1958, Albin married the love of his life, Jean (Hlady) Kindret, in their hometown of Sifton. Their marriage of 68 years was a testament to their steadfast love and partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in love and laughter, creating a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
Albin was a devoted father to Brenda, Carla (Randy), Jim (Heather), and Wendy (Bill). His grandchildren—Jason (Jenni-Lynn), Kristin (Chris), Megan, Derek (Joy), Lee (Sydney), Alex (Madison), Zoe (Josh), Jeanne—were a source of immense pride and joy, and his great-grandchildren—Harlen, Roscoe, Richie, and Aniyah—brought a twinkle to his eye and warmth to his heart.
His surviving sister, Betty Shewchuk, and the entire family cherish the fond memories of Albin's gentle humor, his love for fishing, and the peaceful days spent together at the family cottage. Albin was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was casting a line into a still lake, sharing stories with his family, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
In honoring Albin's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared in his life and supported them during this time of loss. As they reflect on the life of a man deeply loved and admired, they are comforted by the words, "A life well lived, a father deeply loved." Until we meet again.
Though Albin is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a testament to love, family, and the enduring bonds that unite us all. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in eternal peace.
