Alberta Clawson
October 3, 1929 — November 1, 2026
Alberta Clawson, a beloved matriarch and cherished soul, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on October 3, 1929, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Alberta lived a long and fulfilling life, nurturing her family and enriching the lives of all who knew her.
Alberta was born to Alfonzo and Hattie Drenan Clawson and was raised in a family that valued love, resilience, and education. She attended Charlotte Meck schools, where she developed a lifelong love for learning and a deep appreciation for the community around her.
In her lifetime, Alberta was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Edward Clawson, Eugene Clawson, Alfonzo Clawson Jr., Willie Clawson, John Clawson, Margarite Clawson, Hattie Clawson, and Barbara Clawson. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her always.
Alberta is survived by her loving sister, Betty Eady, who shared an unbreakable bond with her throughout their lives. She leaves behind a legacy through her devoted son, Bennie Clawson, and his wife, Linda. Alberta was a proud grandmother to Antonio Clawson, who is married to Listeria, and Tavious Clawson. Her joy knew no bounds when surrounded by her great-grandchildren: Antonio Sr., Jerica, Corey, Kendrick, Jamari, Jamani, and Antonio, who brought immense happiness and pride into her life.
Throughout her years, Alberta was known for her unwavering kindness and generosity. Her warm spirit touched everyone she met, and she became a pillar of strength and guidance for her family. Alberta's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was deeply appreciative of the support from her community and friends, particularly the Trotter family and Brightmore Health Care, whose kindness and care were invaluable.
In honor of Alberta's giving nature, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, allowing her legacy of compassion and benevolence to continue.
Though Alberta has departed from this world, her love and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Alberta Clawson welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
