With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Albert Weeks, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 3, 2026, just shy of his 61st birthday. Albert passed away peacefully in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by family, after bravely battling a heart condition that he faced with courage and grace.
Born on June 14, 1965, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Albert was the cherished son of Honey Mae Weeks and Willie Lee Weeks. He grew up in a household filled with love and laughter, nurtured by the values that he would carry throughout his life. Though preceded in death by his two daughters, a nephew, and his first wife, Albert’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by his surviving wife, Cherish, to whom he was devoted for 30 beautiful years.
Albert's life was a testament to the power of love and familial bonds. As a father of five children and a grandfather to eleven cherished grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, his family was the cornerstone of his existence. Albert's home was always filled with laughter and the warmth of togetherness, a sanctuary for his loved ones and a gathering place where cherished memories were created.
Albert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether casting a line while fishing, perfecting his swing on the golf course, or simply sharing stories and laughter, he embraced every moment with open arms. His two nephews, Timothy and Dionte Weeks, held a special place in his heart, and their time together over the past nine years was a source of immense happiness.
Known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to bring light into the lives of those around him, Albert's presence was a gift. His laughter could fill a room, and his warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Albert's love was a guiding force, radiating through his family and community, and the memories he created will be treasured forever.
Albert is survived by his loving wife, Cherish, his five children, his seven siblings, and a large extended family who adored him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the rich, full life he lived and the everlasting impact he had on all who knew him.
A service to honor and remember Albert's life will be held on June 8, 2026, at 11:21 a.m. at Leek and Sons Funeral Home, located at 7838 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60619. Family, friends, and all whose lives Albert touched are invited to join in a celebration of his life and legacy.
In these moments of sorrow, we extend our deepest gratitude to the hospice staff who cared for Albert with such tenderness and dignity. Your compassion and support provided comfort to Albert and our family during his final days, and for that, we are deeply and humbly grateful.
Albert Weeks will forever be remembered for the love he shared, the joy he brought, and the legacy of kindness and strength he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
