It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Smith, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, on February 21, 2026. Born on June 13, 1978, in Los Angeles, California, Albert graced our world with his vibrant presence for 47 meaningful years before departing this earthly realm to join his parents, the late Albert Collins Smith Sr. and Corene Edmondson-Williams, in eternal rest. Albert's journey through life was marked by the deep connections he fostered with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted family, including his brother, Craig Edmondson of Jackson, Michigan; his eldest sister, Yolanda Edmondson of Houston, Texas; his youngest sister, Coresa Edmondson of Lansing, Michigan; and Deborah Robinson of Houston, Texas. He was a proud and loving father to Davion Scott of Lansing, Michigan; his eldest daughter, Passion Cleggett of Lansing, Michigan; his youngest daughter, Ariel Sutton of Port Charlotte, Florida; and his youngest son, Albert "Little AC" Smith III. Albert's heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren, Kaiser Scott and Delanno Scott of Lansing, Michigan, His Nieces Falysha and Reshay Edmondson and Nephews Marquise Edmondson Nicko Rush ll, Craig (Little Craig) Edmondson and Craig (Baby Craig) Edmondson. Deyea Miller and Isaiah Manning who brought him immeasurable joy and a renewed sense of purpose. Albert was a man of many facets, known for his bold personality and unfiltered sense of humor, which endeared him to those who knew him best. His playful spirit and ability to speak his mind were trademarks of his character, qualities that will be missed by all who had the privilege to share in his company. A man of the earth, Albert found solace in gardening, taking great pride in cultivating lush plants that mirrored his nurturing nature. With his favorite quote we all know and love "Fk them Kids" His strong presence was felt by all, and his humor was a balm to many souls. Albert's influence extended beyond his family, touching the lives of countless friends and acquaintances who will forever hold his memory dear. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit continues to inspire and guide us, a testament to the impact he made during his lifetime. Albert dedicated five years of diligent service at a General Motors Plant, a testament to his work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. He valued education and completed his GED through an educational program later in his life, demonstrating his belief in personal growth and lifelong learning. A man of faith, Albert was a member of Emmanuel's Temple Church under Bishop Phillip E. Owens in Lansing, Michigan, where he found a community that shared his values and beliefs. His faith provided strength and comfort throughout his life, a guiding light until his final days. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Albert's life and legacy on March 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Funeral Chapel & Arrangement Service, located at 2900 N. Waverly Road, Lansing, MI 48906. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Rucker family, Isaac "Zeek" Lopez and Darlene Wilson, Sheila, and Daughter for their unwavering support during this difficult time. Though Albert is no longer here in body, his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find solace in the love he shared and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. Albert Smith will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the love he gave.
