It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Albert L. Logan, known fondly as "Al," who departed this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 84. Al passed away peacefully after a long, hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s, finally transitioning to be with his Creator. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the comfort of cherished memories. Born on February 16, 1942, in Fairmount Heights, Maryland, Al was a beacon of strength, love, and resilience. He was the beloved husband of the late Renee Logan, whom he married in 1981 in Washington, D.C. Together, they built a loving family and shared a deep bond that was a testament to their enduring love. Al was a dedicated father to his four children, Trina, Robert, Angie, and Monique, who survive him. They, along with his four grandchildren, will carry forward his legacy of love, integrity, and dedication. A proud alumnus of Fairmount Heights High School, Al pursued a life of service and community. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1977, demonstrating courage and commitment to his country. Following his military service, Al devoted his career to the Metro Transit Authority, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2011. Al's faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was an active church member for over 30 years, finding joy and purpose in his community. His spirit was one of generosity and kindness, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. In his leisure time, Al found peace in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing and boating, often spending serene days on the water, embracing the beauty of nature. Above all, he cherished family activities, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love. Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Renee Logan, whom he missed dearly. His legacy of love and devotion continues to shine through the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will forever hold him in their hearts. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Al's life and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to organizations dedicated to Alzheimer's research, in hopes of finding a cure for this devastating disease. Albert L. Logan will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a steadfast friend. His life was a testament to the power of love, service, and faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Renee, and may his memory be a blessing to all.
