Albert Jones, a beacon of love and music, peacefully departed this world on July 12, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by family in the comfort of his home. Born on December 27, 1955, in the vibrant town of Benton Harbor, MI, Albert was the cherished son of the late Fred Jones and Susie K. Sanders Jones. He was a man whose life was a symphony of devotion to family, faith, and the melodies that brought solace and joy to many. Albert’s life was marked by deep-rooted love and commitment. For 30 years, he shared a beautiful journey with his beloved partner, Wanda Cockerham, with whom he raised four wonderful children. Albert is survived by his devoted daughters, Ashia, Chrissy, and Latosha Jones, all residing in Elkhart, IN, and his son, Jovon Jones, also of Elkhart, IN. His sister, Doll Jones, remains in Benton Harbor, MI, where the family’s roots run deep. Albert’s legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love he so generously imparted. Albert was preceded in death by his dear mother, Lilly Jones, and his brothers, Ernest Jones and Maine Jones, as well as his sister, Linda Sanders. Their memories live on in the stories and laughter shared by the family he leaves behind. For 28 years, Albert was a dedicated employee of Leers Company. Yet, it was his role as the lead singer for the Elkhart Jubilee’s Gospel Group that truly illuminated his spirit. With a voice that could move mountains and a gift for singing that gave listeners chills, Albert touched countless hearts. His passion for gospel music was matched only by his love for playing the guitar and the peaceful solitude he found in fishing with his close friends. Albert’s personal qualities were as harmonious as the music he loved. He was a man of warmth, humor, and unyielding faith. His presence was a comforting balm to those who knew him, and his ability to bring people together through song was nothing short of magical. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Albert’s life. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the compassion and support shown during this challenging time and kindly asks for continued prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Albert’s memory to a charity of your choice, as a gesture of spreading the kindness and love that Albert so freely gave. Albert Jones will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His melodies linger, and his spirit endures in every note sung and every memory cherished.
