In Loving Memory

ALANA HASKINS
September 13, 2004 — July 23, 2026
Alana Haskins, a remarkable young woman whose light graced the world on September 13, 2004, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with stage 4 melanoma. Alana was a beacon of strength and resilience, whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered.
Born to Christine Galiardi-Haskins and Robert Haskins, who both preceded her in death, Alana grew up surrounded by love and encouragement. She is survived by her devoted siblings, sisters Haley Haskins and Skye Galiardi, and brother Klaus Galiardi, who will forever cherish her memory and the joy she brought into their lives.
Alana's academic journey was marked by her time at the University of Pittsburgh, where she pursued a degree in biology. Her passion for learning was matched only by her enthusiasm for life. Alana was an active member of the university’s cheerleading squad, a testament to her spirited nature and her ability to inspire those around her. Despite her illness, which eventually demanded all her strength and focus, she remained a dedicated student and a cherished friend.
A lover of sports, Alana found great joy in football and cross country. Her athleticism was only rivaled by her love for spending time with her family and friends. She had a unique ability to make every moment memorable, with her kind words and infectious smile lighting up any room she entered. Alana possessed a natural gift for humor, always ready with a joke to uplift someone's spirits, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love.
Alana's family has chosen to honor her life in a private ceremony, reflecting the intimate and personal connections she cultivated throughout her life. For those wishing to honor her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation in Washington, DC. This organization was dear to Alana’s heart as it represents the fight against the disease she faced with such bravery.
In celebrating Alana Haskins' life, we remember a young woman who lived with grace and courage, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though her time with us was far too short, her spirit will endure in the hearts of everyone she touched.
