Alan peacefully transitioned surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with illness.
Born on November 16, 1944, in the bustling heart of Oklahoma City, Alan was the cherished son of Lester and Judy Garner, who preceded him in death. Growing up in Oklahoma, Alan developed a profound connection to the vibrant landscape and the close-knit community that would shape his life's journey.
Alan was a man of many virtues, known for his unwavering integrity, kindness, and a deep love for his family. He met the love of his life, Opal, and together they built a beautiful life that spanned more than five decades. Their relationship was a testament to enduring love and partnership, marked by mutual respect and deep affection. Opal, his devoted wife, continues to cherish the memories of their life together, carrying forward his legacy with grace and strength.
As a father, Alan was a guiding light to his son, Larry Garner, instilling in him the values of hard work, honesty, and compassion. Larry continues to honor his father's teachings, living a life that reflects the principles Alan so dearly held.
Alan's role as a grandfather to six and a great-grandfather to eight brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of his eye, and he never missed an opportunity to share his wisdom, humor, and love with them. Each visit, each story, and each shared moment left an indelible mark on their hearts.

A private family service will be held to honor Alan's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, in memory of Alan's generous spirit and desire to help others.
As we say our farewells, we hold dear the many cherished memories and the profound love that Alan Ray Garner shared with us all. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
