With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alan Garner, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on February 27, 2026, at the age of 75. Alan passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with illness, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on November 3, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Alan was the cherished son of the late Lester and Opal Garner. From a young age, Alan demonstrated a profound curiosity and a zest for life that would define his many accomplishments and endearing relationships. He carried with him the values of integrity, kindness, and an unyielding work ethic imparted by his parents, who preceded him in death. Alan's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He is survived by his devoted siblings, Larry Garner and Shandella Garner, and his loving children, Tammy Garner and Larry Garner Jr. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren, of whom there are seven, and his twelve great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride. Alan's spirit and wisdom will continue to guide his surviving sisters-in-law, Sue Garner and Tina Williams, and all who knew him. Alan had a profound love for his family and was a steadfast pillar of support, always ready with an encouraging word or a gentle smile. His kindness and generosity were boundless, and his ability to make those around him feel valued and cherished was one of his greatest gifts. He was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and whose laughter was an echo of the happiness he spread. Though the family has chosen to honor Alan’s memory with a private ceremony, they wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support during this difficult time. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and condolences, which have provided comfort and strength. In this time of mourning, we celebrate Alan's life—a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find solace in the legacy he leaves behind, and in the enduring love that will continue to bind us all. Rest in peace, dear Alan. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
