It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of Alan Brian Gaskill, Jr., who left us unexpectedly on May 28, 2026. Born on October 7, 1975, in Lake City, Florida, Brian was a beacon of dedication and service, touching the lives of many with his unwavering service and kind heart Brian was the beloved son of Sharon Gaskill and the late Alan Brian Gaskill. He carried the legacy of his father in his heart and passed it on to his cherished daughters, Grace, Mackenzie, and Stella Marie Gaskill. His sister, Dianna Lynn Witsman, along with her husband, Bart Witsman, and their children, Lindsay Kay Solise with her husband Clay Solise, and nephew John Alan Johnson, will forever remember him as a loving brother and uncle. Brian's life was a testament to service, both in his personal and professional endeavors. For nearly two decades, he was a devoted firefighter with the West Manatee Fire Rescue, where he was known not only for his bravery but also for his kindness and protectiveness towards women, children, and animals. His colleagues and friends from the fire service and beyond will remember him as a man who was as tough as nails yet possessed a tender heart that sometimes found it difficult to express the depth of his love. In his retirement, Brian continued his mission of service by volunteering with Mark Salters in a ministry focused on feeding the homeless in Fort Myers, Florida. His desire to offer comfort and nourishment to others was a defining feature of his character, and his home was always open to friends and strangers alike, where he delighted in providing meals and refreshments. Brian's warmth and generosity extended to all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of kindness will be carried on by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. His humor, his welcoming nature, and the love he shared will be forever missed but never forgotten. A celebration of Brian's life will be held on July 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at The Elks Lodge, located at 2511 75th St W, Bradenton, FL. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Brian are invited to join in honoring his memory and the remarkable life he led. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brian's honor to __ ensuring that his legacy of service and care continues. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find solace in knowing that Brian's spirit will forever be with us, guiding us with the same love and dedication he showed in life. Rest in peace, dear Brian. Your journey here may have ended, but your spirit lives on in the lives you touched and the love you shared.
