AINSWORTH L. HILLS, III

Ainsworth L. Hills, III, born on March 29, 1947, in Dalhard, Texas, peacefully passed away on August 19, 2026, with his beloved wife by his side. After a brief illness, Ainsworth closed his eyes for the last time and embraced eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. Ainsworth was the cherished son of Mae and Ainsworth Hills, II, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Christine Hills, who stood faithfully by his side throughout their journey together. Their love story began on July 3, 1974, in Belton Lake, Texas, and they were blessed with two sons: Kenton Hills, alongside his fiancé Sabrina Anspach Crowe, and Dorsten Hills, married to Mary Ann Hills. Ainsworth was a loving grandfather to Marcus Hills and a caring brother to his sister, Barbara Adams. A proud veteran, Ainsworth dedicated 23 years of his life to military service. He served honorably in the Army, with assignments that took him and his family across the globe, including Germany, North Carolina, and Washington State. Ainsworth retired as a Master Sergeant E8, leaving a lasting impact on all who served alongside him. After his military career, he continued to serve his country for another 20 years in a civilian capacity with the U.S. Government and later at the Officers Club at Patrick Air Force Base. Ainsworth was a man of many interests and talents. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, gardening, and building intricate military models. His quick wit and warm smile were trademarks of his personality, and he had an exceptional gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. His kindness, love, and generosity touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Family and friends will gather to honor Ainsworth's life and legacy on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The service will be held at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, located at 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Ainsworth's memory. The Hills family extends their deepest gratitude to the Hospice of St. Francis for their compassionate care and to the staff at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery for their support during this difficult time.
