Born on November 11, 2008, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Aiden graced this world on a day that celebrates those who serve—a fitting beginning for someone whose life was marked by a deep commitment to service and leadership.
Aiden was the cherished son of Steffine Edwards (James) and Jeremy Dornbos, who nurtured his inquisitive mind and compassionate spirit. Growing up in a loving family, with his siblings Clay, Miranda, Joseph (Dornbos) and Emily Edwards. Aiden was instilled with strong values and a sense of duty that would come to define his young life. He was predeceased by his cousin, Allison Ley, and his step-grandfather, Jim Edwards, whom he loved dearly and who welcomed him into eternity.
Aiden was a proud member of the Class of 2026 at Belleville High School, where he excelled academically and socially. He was a treasured member of the Naval Junior ROTC program, serving as the Commanding Officer—a role that highlighted his natural leadership abilities and unwavering dedication to his peers. Aiden's infectious smile and caring heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met, earning him the respect and admiration of classmates, teachers, and community members alike.
In March of 2026, Aiden's dream of serving his country became a reality when he enlisted in the United States Navy, securing a coveted position in the Navy’s prestigious Nuclear Program. His intelligence, determination, and ambition promised a future filled with opportunities and achievements. Aiden was excited to embark on this new chapter, eager to make a difference and honor the legacy of those who served before him.
The outpouring of love and tributes from family, friends, and the community is a testament to the impact Aiden had on those around him. He was a beacon of hope and kindness, and his loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Aiden's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at Highland Cemetery, located at 943 N. River St., Ypsilanti, MI 48198. As we gather to honor his memory, we invite all those whose lives were touched by Aiden to join us in remembering the joy he brought into our lives.
