Adrian May
October 8, 1932 — August 29, 2026
Adrian May, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, adventure, and resilience, peacefully departed this world on August 29, 2026. Born on October 8, 1932, in the serene surroundings of Calhoun County, Adrian was the beloved son of Ubes Pittman, Sr. and Alma Foster May. His journey through life was marked by dedication, passion, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
In 1957, Adrian married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Thompson May, on a beautiful summer day in West Point. Their union was a remarkable tapestry of love, laughter, and shared dreams, lasting until Patricia's passing in 2024. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and an enduring partnership that inspired all who knew them.
Adrian proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years of diligent work as a Machine Operator for Babcock and Wilcox, where his strong work ethic and integrity left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Adrian found profound joy in the natural world. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, often found running trot lines or hosting a lively fish fry for family and friends. His love for the outdoors extended to camping and traveling, where he created countless cherished memories.
Adrian had a knack for finding treasures in the most unexpected places. He delighted in visiting pawn shops, where he skillfully traded guns and knives, always on the lookout for his next great find. His fascination with clocks and watches filled his home with the soothing rhythm of ticking timepieces, each one a reflection of his meticulous tinkering.
In his quieter moments, Adrian found solace in visiting the local locks and dams, where he marveled at the barges and boats locking through, a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures.
Adrian May leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and a life well-lived. In honoring his memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of kindness and generosity.
