Adam Gregory Calloway

October 19, 2010 — August 1, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Adam Gregory Calloway, whose bright spirit left us on August 1, 2026. Born on October 19, 2010, in Wilkesboro, NC, Adam was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew him. Adam was the beloved son of Johannah Aguliar and Jamie Mooneyhan. He is now reunited with his cherished grandmother, Freida Diana Mathis, his grandfather, John Mathis Aguliar, and his dear sister, Aurora, who predeceased him. A recent graduate of the Class of 2026, Adam was filled with dreams for the future. He eagerly anticipated attending the University of Tennessee to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice, inspired by a deep desire to follow in his family's footsteps in law enforcement. His aspirations were rooted in a legacy of service, with hopes of joining the Wilkes County Sheriff's Department and potentially working for Homeland Security, where his father serves today. Adam's work ethic was evident in his role at the Mathis Family Farm in Roaring River, NC. As a farmhand, he found joy in feeding livestock, sorting and cutting cattle, and participating in cattle drives. His dedication to the farm was matched by his involvement in 4-H and the FFA, where his leadership and teamwork skills shone brightly. An active member of Cranberry Baptist Church and its youth group, Adam found community and solace in his faith. He was also a talented competitor in team roping competitions at the national level within the NFR, where his passion for the sport and determination were admired by many. Beyond his achievements, Adam was a young man of many interests. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a lover of animals, and took every opportunity to ride his horse. Summers were spent at the swimming hole, where his love for the water was infectious. Adam will be remembered for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke or a prank to brighten someone's day. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice, honoring Adam's spirit of giving and compassion. Adam Gregory Calloway's memory will be cherished forever, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
