Ada Mae Jackson, a beloved matriarch whose life was a testament to strength, love, and resilience, peacefully departed this world on July 2, 2026, at her home, at the age of 94. Born on September 6, 1931, in the small town of Karnack, Texas, Ada was blessed to be raised by her loving parents, Robert and Novella Whiten, who instilled in her the values of kindness and faith that she carried throughout her life.
Ada's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her family and her unwavering faith. As a devoted mother, she cherished her children and found immense joy in nurturing and guiding them. Though she faced the heartbreaking loss of her sons, Willie and Larry Jackson, and her daughter, Diane Nelson, Ada's spirit remained unbroken. Her resilience shone through as she continued to pour her love and wisdom into the lives of her surviving daughters, Sandra Lewis (Donald), Debra White, Melissa Watts (Eric), and Vickie Jackson (Jarvis).
Her legacy of love extends to her 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who were blessed to have known her gentle spirit and learned from her enduring grace. Ada's role as the family matriarch was a position she held with immense pride and unwavering dedication. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter, love, and the aroma of her delicious cooking filled the air, creating memories that will be cherished by generations to come.
Professionally, Ada worked at the Lone Star Ammunition plant, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were recognized and respected by her colleagues, and she carried these same principles into every facet of her life.
A faithful member of Charity Baptist Church, Ada's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She found great solace and community within the church, where she engaged in various activities and extended her kindness to everyone she met. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light to many and a testament to the strength she drew from her beliefs.
Family and friends are invited to honor Ada's extraordinary life at a graveside burial service, which will be held on July 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Chapelwood Cemetery. It is during this time that we will gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ada Mae Jackson's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to giving and helping others.
