In Loving Memory

Ada Green
April 19, 1966 — June 22, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ada Green, who departed this world on June 22, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on April 19, 1966, in Norfolk, Virginia, Ada was a beacon of love and resilience, whose life was a testament to strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Ada was the cherished daughter of the late William and Jeanette, who instilled in her the values of compassion and perseverance. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved brothers Columbus, Leon, Efrem, and Chris, and her dear son Kashon, whose memories she carried tenderly in her heart. Together, they shaped the remarkable woman that Ada became, and her journey now continues alongside them in eternal peace.
Ada’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her children, Ashley, Shameer, and Kewon, Jr., who were her pride and joy. Her heart and home were always open, providing warmth and guidance to her family and a home base that was filled with laughter and love. Her brothers, Terry, Herbert, William III, Timothy, and Antonio, remain as enduring pillars of her life, embodying the close-knit bonds that defined their family.
A dedicated mother, sister, and friend, Ada's greatest joy was her family, which grew to include 17 grandchildren, each of whom she adored and who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Ada found happiness in watching their accomplishments and guiding them with her wisdom and love.
Beyond her family, Ada had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and softball, which she played with enthusiasm and joy. These interests not only brought her personal joy but also fostered connections with others, creating cherished friendships and memories that will endure as part of her enduring legacy.
Despite her battle with lupus, Ada approached life with courage and grace, never allowing her illness to overshadow her spirit or her love for those around her. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her, a testament to her strength and the love she held for her family.
A celebration of Ada’s life will be held on July 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grave’s Funeral Home, located at 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, VA 23504. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and share in the stories and memories of a life that touched so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ada’s memory to organizations dedicated to lupus research, a cause close to her heart.
Ada Green’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Ada.
