A.B. Giles
January 12, 1937 — October 9, 2026
In loving memory of A.B. Giles, who peacefully departed this life on October 9, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on January 12, 1937, in the serene landscapes of Carthage Ms, he was the cherished son of Arlean Primer and Matthew Giles. His journey was marked by a profound dedication to family, community, and faith.
A.B.'s life was a testament to enduring love and commitment, beautifully exemplified by 69 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Emma Pearl Smith Giles. Their union, blessed on September 9, 1957, was a beacon of love, resilience, and partnership, inspiring all who knew them.
His heart and home were filled with the laughter and love of his children: daughters Mary Jean Brand of Carthage, MS, and Emma Jane (Anthony) Friday of Jackson, MS; and sons Hubert Lee (Twonna) Giles and A.J. (Irene) Giles, both of Carthage, MS. The legacy of his love extends to his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the warmth and wisdom of their dear Pawpaw.
A.B. is also mourned by his devoted sisters, Diane Primer of Carthage, MS, and Annie Pearl Griffin of Jackson, MS. He now joins in eternal rest his predeceased siblings, Betty Ann Barnes, Evelyn Carson, Evonne Blount, Margarite Lindsey, and Robert Giles, who welcomed him into the heavenly embrace.
Educated in Carthage, A.B. was a man of deep faith and principle, dedicating much of his life to serving others through his involvement with A.C.H. Memorial CME Church. His kindness, humility, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
A celebration of A.B.'s life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at A.C.H. Memorial CME Church. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his grace are kindly invited to attend and honor his remarkable journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of their choice, reflecting A.B.'s lifelong commitment to helping others.
A.B. Giles lived a life of quiet strength and gentle wisdom, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be cherished and remembered by all. His memory will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him.
