Aaron Michael Kempest, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on June 25, 1982, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Aaron was the beloved son of James Kempest and Cheryl Gibson Young.
Throughout his life, Aaron worked as a mechanic and welder. Aaron took great pride in his ability to solve problems and create solutions with his hands. Aaron enjoyed working on small engines, old lawn tractors and his beloved mopeds.
Aaron shared 12 years with his partner, Michele Walton Trego, building a life together with their son Zayn Michael Kempest. Aaron also has a daughter l, Destiny Kempest, and a stepdaughter, Aurora Huyett (wife to Kaleb Huyett) and a grandson, Tobias Huyett (that granddad would give chocolate to), who brought joy and light into his life.
Aaron is also survived by his father, James Kempest, and his wife Kim; his mother, Cheryl Gibson Young, and her husband Tom; his brothers, Andrew Kempest and his wife Rebecca, and Cody Pluck; his sister, Jamie Davis; his niece, Montana Davis; and his nephew, Gabriel Kempest. His family extended beyond blood, including dear friends and other relatives who held a special place in his heart.
Aaron was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Irene and Stanley Kempest; his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Darrel Gibson Sr.; his stepfather, Edward Pluck Jr.; and his stepbrother, Brian Pluck. Their memories continued to inspire him throughout his life.
A celebration of life will be announced later by the family. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who love him.
As we remember Aaron, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life marked by love, laughter, and an unyielding dedication to family and friends. His impact on the world is immeasurable, and his memory will be cherished always.
