Aaron Footman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on November 11, 1941, in Tallahassee, Florida, Aaron's life was a testament to hard work. He confesses to Christ later in life and strived to be an imitator of his love for the Lord. His early years in Tallahassee were marked by a strong sense of family; He is predeceased by his father Ebenezer Footman, mother Annie Bell Footman and a son, Richard Footman (Flamisean), who he now joins in eternal rest. For 65 glorious years, Aaron was united in love and partnership with his devoted wife, Mary Footman. Together, they built a life that brought him joy and warmth. Aaron is survived by his children, Raymond Haynes (Elizabeth), Tony Branton (Carolyn), Abby Branton, Maria Kelley (William), and Ruby Nicholson (Ray). He also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Effie Tolbert, Dairlene Clemons, and Daisy Lovett (Jean). Aaron's legacy lives on in his 23 grandchildren, 28 greatgrandchildren, and 11 great, great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews to testament his presence will be deeply missed, but his presence will continue to be an inspiration. A dedicated construction worker and a valued employee at Sunland Hospital, Aaron later retired from Florida A&M University. Outside of work, Aaron was an active and devoted member of the 1200 Church, where his faith and community spirit were evident to all who knew him. Aaron had a passion for fishing, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace. In his later years, he discovered a talent for jewelry crafting, creating beautiful pieces that brought joy to those lucky enough to receive his gifts. A celebration of Aaron's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at 1200 Church, located at 1200 West Tharpe St., Tallahassee, Florida 32303.
