It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Aaliyah McBride, who left us on May 10, 2026, following complications from an extended illness. Aaliyah was a beacon of light, known for her kindness and unwavering strength. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on January 27, 1979, in the close-knit community of Warren, Ohio, Aaliyah was a cherished daughter of Karen McBride and the late Daryl McBride Sr. Her journey through life was marked by a deep love for her family and a steadfast dedication to her passions.
Aaliyah's educational pursuits led her to the Pittsburgh Culinary School, from which she graduated in 2000. Her love for cooking was not just a career choice but a way through which she expressed her creativity and brought joy to those around her. Her dishes, crafted with love and skill, were a testament to her talent and dedication.
Aaliyah went on to serve the Youngstown City School District as a bus driver for one year. Her role there was more than a job; it was a testament to her commitment to her community and her desire to ensure the safety and well-being of the children she transported.
Away from her professional endeavors, Aaliyah found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fisherman, often finding solace in the tranquility of nature. Her weekends were punctuated by cheers and support for her favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns and the Boston Celtics, where her unwavering loyalty was as strong as her affection for her family.
Aaliyah was predeceased by her father, Daryl T. McBride Sr., her brother, Daryl T. McBride Jr., her sister, Joleesa D. Hameed, her grandparents, Clifton Jones, and her great-grandmother, Maxine Benford. She is survived by her devoted mother, Karen McBride of Warren, Ohio, her loving sister, Janine McDonald of Columbus, Ohio, and her caring brother, Brent McDonald of Los Angeles, CA. Her family, whom she cherished deeply, will remember her as a pillar of strength and an embodiment of love.
