In Loving Memory

Donna Townsend Dawkins
May 13, 1964 — January 11, 2026
In loving memory of a cherished mother and nana, we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who graced this world with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Born on May 13, 1964, in Linden, North Carolina, she was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She peacefully departed this life on January 11, 2026, due to complications from a respiratory issue, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the beloved daughter of William and Alma Croom, who predeceased her and instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that she carried throughout her life. Her journey of love continued when she met and married her soulmate, Paul Dawkins Jr., with whom she shared many beautiful years until his passing.
Her family was her greatest joy and the center of her universe. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Ashely Dawn Jacobs, and her loving son, Anthony Keith Leslie. Her legacy of love and nurturing spirit lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Lillian Jacobs, Annabelle Jacobs, and Aiden Barker, who brought immense joy to her heart. She was a proud and doting nana who found endless delight in their laughter and accomplishments.
A woman of deep faith and conviction, she was an active member of the Unity Baptist Church of Linden, NC. Her devotion to her community and her church family was evident in her unwavering participation and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who were blessed to know her.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating her remarkable life on April 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Unity Baptist Church, located at 10007 Colliers Chapel Church Rd. It will be a time to honor her memory, share stories of love and laughter, and find solace in the legacy she leaves behind.
In remembering her, we hold dear the memories of her warm smile, her gentle guidance, and her unconditional love. While she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. She taught us that love is eternal and that family is the most precious gift of all.
May she rest in peace, forever in the embrace of her beloved Paul and her parents, and may we find comfort in knowing that her love continues to shine upon us from the heavens above.
