In Loving Memory of Dr. Henry Peterson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Henry Peterson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on May 27, 1956, in KZN, Henry left this world far too soon on April 18, 2026, a victim of a tragic mass shooting. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Henry was a beacon of compassion and dedication, known for his lifelong commitment to healing and service. After graduating from Lincoln High School, he pursued a career in medicine, ultimately serving as a doctor at Kempton Park Hospital for 25 years. His colleagues and patients alike admired him for his skill and empathy.
He was a devoted family man, married to the love of his life, Jane Smith, on May 16, 1995. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising three wonderful children: Peter, Mike, and Phoebe. Henry's legacy lives on through them, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jake and Miles, who adored their grandfather's stories and wisdom. Henry was also a loving brother to Chris and a dutiful son to his parents, John and Mary Peterson. He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother, Grace Peterson, whom he held dear to his heart.
Beyond his medical career, Henry was an active member of the First Twelve Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, where his faith and kindness were evident to all. A people's person, he was known for his warm smile and generous spirit. Henry found peace in nature, often spending his free time fishing or hiking, activities that brought him great joy and tranquility.
A memorial service to honor Henry's remarkable life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Faith Mission Church, located at 123 Main Road, Concordia. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a man who touched so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Henry's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that was close to his heart.
Henry Peterson's legacy of love, kindness, and service will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
